Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique to assist the body gain optimal movement of what is known as the "cranial wave." The cranial wave motion, one theory suggests, is created by a flow of energy, the bioelectric field, that continually infuses every cell of the body. Because this energy filed directly influences each cell, including muscle fibers, the therapist can assess the minute movement created by it to ascertain where treatment is needed to optimize freedom of the body's soft tissues, including the area over the cranium. Treatment has a therapeutic effect on the regulatory mechanisms within the central nervous system, optimizing the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the brain, as well as helping to bring one back into the relaxed regulation of the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system. While treatment may focus on the head, spine and pelvis, it is not limited to those areas. The outcome can bring the client not only greater physical comfort, but also greater clarity and a heightened sense of energy and well-being. Discovered first by physician William Sutherland, his 50 years of research and that of others after him has developed craniosacral therapy into the healing modality is it today. This therapy will provide a very soothing, relaxing and transformative experience.
